Terms of Service

1. Agreement

By creating an account or using mySal (mysal.life), you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service. mySal is operated by [YOUR NAME / COMPANY NAME], [YOUR ADDRESS] ("we", "us").

2. What mySal is — and what it is not

mySal is a salary and tax calculation and financial education tool. mySal is not a regulated financial adviser. We are not authorised or regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), the Central Bank of Ireland, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, or any other financial regulator.

All content — including calculations and AI-generated responses from the AI Advisor and AI Accountant — is provided for educational and illustrative purposes only. It is not financial, tax, investment or legal advice. Tax calculations are estimates based on published rates and may not reflect your actual liability. Always verify important decisions with a qualified accountant or tax adviser.

3. Your account

You must provide accurate information and keep your login credentials secure. You are responsible for activity on your account. You must be at least 16 years old to use mySal.

4. Subscriptions

• Free: core calculator features at no cost.
• Premium: £4.99/month or £39/year.
• Pro: £9.99/month or £79/year.

Paid plans renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel anytime from Account → Billing; access continues to the end of the paid period. Payments are processed by Stripe. Prices may change with 30 days' email notice.

Prices are shown in your local currency where supported. Applicable sales taxes (VAT, GST, or sales tax) are calculated automatically at checkout based on your location and are shown before you pay.

5. EU and Irish consumers — 14-day cooling-off right

If you are an EU or Irish consumer, you may cancel a new subscription within 14 days for a full refund. By starting your subscription immediately, you request immediate performance of the service and acknowledge that once you use the paid features, your refund may be reduced proportionally to the service already provided. You can always cancel future renewals at any time.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to: use mySal to misrepresent your tax position to any tax authority; attempt to copy, scrape, resell or reverse-engineer the service or its AI outputs; share your account; interfere with the security or operation of the service. We may suspend accounts that break these rules.

7. AI features

AI Advisor and AI Accountant responses are generated by artificial intelligence and may contain errors. They are educational illustrations of how tax rules generally work — not personal advice, and not a substitute for a qualified professional. You are responsible for verifying any information before acting on it.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. We are not liable for losses arising from reliance on calculations or AI outputs, errors in tax rate data, or indirect or consequential losses. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded (including fraud, or death or personal injury caused by negligence). Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

9. Intellectual property

mySal, its design, content and features belong to us. You get a personal, non-transferable licence to use the service — nothing more.

10. Termination

You can delete your account at any time from Settings, which permanently removes your data (see Privacy Policy). We can suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Ireland. However, if you are a consumer, you always retain the mandatory consumer protections and the right to bring proceedings in the courts of the country where you live. Nothing in these Terms reduces your statutory rights under your local law, including (for Australian users) the consumer guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law, and (for UK users) your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

12. Service availability

mySal is available worldwide except where prohibited by law. We do not currently offer the service to residents of countries whose laws require local data storage that we cannot provide (including the People's Republic of China and the Russian Federation). Tax calculations are currently supported for the countries listed in our country selector; for unsupported countries the calculator may not reflect your local rules.

13. Changes

We'll give you 30 days' email notice of material changes. Continued use after that means you accept the new Terms.
